she is from Batanes, if my sources are right. The Batanes group of islands is located at the north end of the Philippines. They say Batanes is almost a boat away from Taiwan. Also, Batanes is frequented by storms and typhoons. And from what I've heard the crime rate there is zero, as in you can leave your house open and it will not get robbed. Nicole from what I hear also joined the Star Search (or was it some other singing competition) in the US and won a runner-up position which was the key to her being the lead of the Pussycat Dolls now.
Oh, and when you get the chance to feature another Filipino talent, why don't you do Billy Crawford? I think he is Filipino-American (his dad from Texas?). He started showbiz when he was 5 here in the Philippines as the only child in "That's Entertainment" (a show from the 80s featuring up and coming teen stars). What endears him to Filipinos is not just the way he CAN sing and the way he CAN dance, but also the way he keeps coming back to the Philippines to keep connected to his roots. He has just finished his reality TV show here ("Move") which was a search for Filipino dancers to back him up on concerts. And if the rumors are true, he and Mandy Moore used to be an item.
