Last year in July, it’s like the heavens fell on me when Angkor Wat didn’t make it to the New 7 Wonders of the World. It went a long way from thousand of nominees to just 20!
I took it personally, sulked for days and threw tantrums on just anybody who passes by me. Oh, the disappointment! We had to wait another thousand years to get the chance.
But in a twist of fate, struck of good fortune! – A new campaign for the New 7 Wonders of NATURE! Isn’t that fantastic?
This is our chance to work together and put Southeast Asian natural wonders on that Perfect 7 list! Unlike what we all did last time.
At the moment, there are 7 nominees from our beloved paradise – 3 from Vietnam, 2 from Thailand, 1 from Indonesia and 1 from the Philippines. But we can still submit nominations till the end of this year.
Unfortunately, this is to answer the emails we get...the Banaue Rice Terraces is not eligible. Our rice terraces, be it in Ifugao, Bali, Chiang Mai or Vietnam is all – MAN MADE. *obviously*
Here is where you can find more information about this new campaign.
Curious which natural wonders of Southeast Asia are in the nominees? And their current world rankings…
7. Ha Long Bay - Vietnam
9. Hong Nha Ke Bang - Vietnam
12. Mt. Fansipan - Vietnam
37. Tubbataha Reef - Philippines
39. Komodo National Park - Indonesia
52. Phang Nga Bay - Thailand
55. Khao Yai - Thailand
And here is where you can vote as early as today. Vote for all of them!
It’s not very hard to work together. Keep the flame burning till the 30th of December and make as many Southeast Asian know about this as we can.
Vote! Vote! Vote!
