PERFECT SPECIMEN: Uttsada Panichkul

MTV Asia's whackiest personality.
Asia's most famous VJ and one of Thailand's most beautiful faces gone sexy.

Utt was born on 3 September 1974. His father is Thai-Chinese and his mother, an American.

Living the prosperous Californian life, he was literally "exiled" to Thailand when he was 17. A monk took one look at him and said he got "bad luck" written all over him because he was a rowdy wild kid. Wanting to change their son's luck and attitude, they brought him to Thailand to live with his grandmother, literally penniless. He went to school at ABAC (Assumption University), got a modeling job and saved money for a plane ticket back to America.

The charm of Thailand don't spare anyone including the half-Thai Utt. He came back to his ancestor's land, kick start a modeling and acting career to become one of Asia's most recognizable faces.

Yes Sanne, you read it here too! LOL He is Thai-Chinese (his dad).

Hmmm...I dont know if thats a question or an expression -- about him being goolooking? That's where he got his babyface, in his Chi blood. :-)

Wait, what about Andrea Fonseka...she's Chinese-Portuguese right?

it's both a question and expression! :) I'm gonna try catch Utt when I'm in Singapore (he should be there).

Andrea Fonseka's mum is Chinese and her dad looks abit Eurasian (most probably portugese heritage) or Indian to me though.

Kindly check on your opening info regarding Utt's mom. It written on the 30 April 2007 issue of the Straits Times that both his parents are Thai-Chinese descent. There's even a picture of him as a toddler with his parents, and his mother looks very much an Asian.

Cheers!

Oh sweety, that's one of those "please the romans when you're in Rome" [or something like that].

Utt is jump-starting a career in Singaporean television. What better way to please the predominantly Chinese country than to "claim" he has pure or has more Chinese blood? Very novel indeed.

I'm sure if given the chance, he will leave the fact that he's Thai and totally claim his parents are pure Chinese that migrated to Thailand.

Let's not believe everything we read in the papers sweety, shall we?

I met Utt at an art show or something somewhere in Singapore and he was quite a snobby person. Was friendly at all. So much for being such a hot person

I'm quite sure that Utt has no American blood. Both his parents are Thai-Chinese. However, if you were born and grew up in the west, you TEND to have a Eurasian look. I have some cousins who were born and grew up in Germany, and although both their parents are pure Asian, they somewhat look Eurasian (freckles and all). And NO, they weren't adopted (my mom was there when their mom gave birth).

I know Utt and his family personally, they are pure Chinese in ancestory.

I second Alex M., I'm with Utt's cousin right now and he vouches that Utt is pure Thai Chinese.
