from twice a month to every Sunday in a bid to bring down the level of
carbon emissions in the heavily polluted metropolis, Governor Fauzi Bowo
said last month, local media reported. On Sunday, all motorized
vehicles will be barred from entering two of the capital's busiest
streets - Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Thamrin - from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on
car-free days.
