BATTLE OF THE EURASIANS:
Our Girls in the Miss World 2007
Three of our 6 girls in this year’s Miss World are Eurasians – Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore sent exquisite beauties! This is the 2nd consecutive year Singapore sent an Indian delegate – I personally believe that uber-gorgeous Colleen Francisca was robbed of the crown last year.
But anyways... Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam sent beautiful girls too. I don’t know why Cambodia didn’t send any this year. Here are our girls…
Kamidia Radisti, 23, Student, 169cm
Deborah Priya Henry, 22, Model, 178cm, Indian-Irish
Margaret Wilson, 18, Student, 175cm, Filipino-Scots-Irish
Roshni Kaur Soin, 21, Student, 175cm, Indian-Australian
Kanokkorn Jaichuen, 21, Student, 175cm
Dang Thu Thi Minh, 19, Student, 168cm
Other countries who sent Eurasian beauties are Canada (Sara Ghulam, Indian-Maltese-Scots) and Panama (Shey Ling Him Gordon).
The girls have flown to Sanya, China a week ago for the month-long super hectic functions and rehearsals. The Finals Night would be on 01 December when 2 Billion people will watch it live.
Good luck to our girls!

what's mystique doing up there?
don't you think miss philippines photo looks like mystique in the x-men movie? change the photo!
O yeah! She looks like Mystique! LOL. And oh my gosh! Malaysia is divine!!! Love her, love her, love her!
Indonesia looks wicked. She rocks! She certainly knows how to project.
Wow, they're all stunning. I hope one of them will win a major prize.
I'm gonna bet my pinkie on Malaysia...but on another thought, this is the kind of beauty they should send to Miss Universe (which, by the way, has become a modeling contest already).
I'm sure Margaret would look better with less make up. All her photos seem to have too much make up especially on the eyes. I'm sure she doesn't look like this on ordinary pageant day, why release photos like this?
Malaysia boleh! Kecantikan!
RUSSIA, CHINA OR ANGOLA will win this year. The rest will just have to fight for the other awards. I could be wrong (which is seldom) -- in this case, Malaysia will win. Period.
i like the eyes of miss indonesia
miss world has a story of racism
malaysia is beautiful, but hey, miss world is a racist pageant.
Miss World? Racist? Nah, Ryan and Eyron...I beg to disagree.
African and Asian countries kept saying that. Until a girl from Africa won and they shut up. Then it's Asia alone kept screaming now.
I'll just wait till an Asian girl wins and lets see if it's still "racist". *smirk*
What I will call a racist pageant is when a European country wins Miss Asia. Or an Asian country wins Miss Europe. Blah!
OH COME ON! Miss World is racist? No other pageant gives chances by continents. The list of finalists includes 2 girls from every continent. Hello? Have you noticed how Miss Earth (Philippine's own pageant) chooses finalists? Tell mo who is racist now baby.
I've always thought that Eurasians are the "most perfect" creatures on earth! I had Eurasian partners before from both sides of the fence (if you know what I mean hee-hee. Goodluck to all our girls! Can't wait to see them in their swimwear! Ohh la la!
whoa, beauties! :D i hope they can get something this year and bring SEA some joy! if not from our own country at least from the region! :D
Ms. World's totally rigged. Case in point, years ago Ms. Ph should have won that title until the two black girls from Jamaica and South Africa (totally obvious hometown decision) took the crown and the first runner up. So patronizing. Stopped watching these kind of shows after that.
@ Amelia- i dont care about Miss Earth. And for your information, no Ms. Philippines has won the title yet nor any other Asian country for that matter. So shut it. A Black, a White a Latina has won the title. And its very short history, Afghanistan and Tibet has competed. Take that for political statement!
Well, whatever happens, i just hope the deserving girl wins which doesnt happen all the time.
Dang, Miss Malaysia is just GORGEOUS.
And she's as tall as I am! *sigh*
To Riain, you got it exactly baby. Filipinos cry and whine over an issue 30 years ago calling Miss World a racist. Then the Philippines' own Miss Earth only choses Latinas and Europeans to crown. Something is not adding up.
Why cry racism when your local-honed international pageant does the same?
All beauty pagents are mere entertainment period...
I dont think its worth arguing about this things (whatever the issue may be)...
Its a waste of time, can we use our energies to something else more productive period... :-)
I know where you're coming from Mark...BUT
Isn't exchanging opinions and friendly arguments considered somehow productive? Enriching knowledge, honing debating skills which are important in personal development.
Petty or grand issue, its how it is discussed. As long as everybody take it sujectively.
F*ck! Did I just say that??? I'm so grown up! Yipeeee! =)
@ Pisanu...Ok I guess this petty issue makes us interact with eachother which is good...
With this petty issue I agree with you on honing our debating skills but enriching our knowledge? hmmmm maybe and maybe not!
Anyway thanks teacher for saying those meaningful thoughts hehehe. Isn't nice to grow up sometimes =)
I googled Miss Singapore World Miss Colleen Francisca.
and found this = colleenexposed.com
thought it was really exposing her but seems like she is going on to do well in her country.
For this year I think miss Malaysia is a sure winner.
Hi Amelia -
Hmmm... we (Philippines sic) get to choose who wins the crown? What ever happened to the judges mostly composed of foreigners? :) If Ms. Earth sucked that bad, hmmm, how come it is one of the most well-participated pageants, at times edging out Tokyo's Ms. International.
I dont really watch pageants but I think in the 7 year history of the pageant at least it had a Kenyan who made the title (Okay, so the white girl who won got dethroned), but in the long history of Ms. World, only 5 Asians won all of them Indian. Whats up with that?
Just asking a question. Peace Out! ;)
Well seems the 2007 is the year for Asians, so let's just see if one of these Asian delegates will win the crown or at least had one.
I'll put my luck fer Malaysia and of course Philippines.
While MS. World, in an issue of a racist pageant? I guess so.. but as you've said only Asian region hadn't win a title yet... but there's 5 titleholders from India, maybe you mean guys countries from the Eartern-Asia.
Well let's just hope fer the best, I remember Philippines made it to the semis in four consecutive years from 2002-2005, maybe this year Margaret has the chance to make it.
I think Ms Vietnam is like the classic beauty in ASEAN. Has Myanmmar ever sent their girls? What about Timor Leste, Brunei and Laos? Don't they send their girls?
