07.07.07: The New 7 Wonders of the World
The unveiling of the New 7 Wonders of the World will be held in the Stadium of Light in Lisbon, Portugal at 8.30pm GMT (3.30am BKK).
An extravagant gala was prepared with live performances by Jennifer Lopez, Chaka Khan, and Alessandro Safina. Christiano Ronaldo, Jose Carreras, Ben Kingsley would be among some of the guest.
Unlike the original 7 Ancient Wonders which was chosen by one man believed to be Antipater of Sidon,the world casted votes to what is now known as the largest voting in history reaching over 100 million.
After 2,200 years; the world has chosen.

Too bad this new 7 Wonder Show was only a marketing and PR stunt. I doubt it will have any significant impact on how we will see World Wonders today.
Of course the old once a re no more. Other cultural sites stand out. But shouldn't a choice like that be organized by an official body like UNESCO or something?
