YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE EYE ON MALAYSIA

You only have 3 months left to experience this giant Ferris wheel. Its open to the public until 31 December only. It is the tallest portable observation wheel in Southeast Asia -- a gigantic Ferris wheel 60m tall, with spectacular 360-degrees view of Kuala Lumpur.

The concept is similar to the London Eye --The Eye on Malaysia was unveiled on 6 January 2007 as the official icon of the 2007 Visit Malaysia Year.

It would take roughly 12 minutes to complete the circle and costs 15 Ringgit (150 Baht/US$4/€3) for adults and 8 Ringgit for children and senior citizens. There are 42 gondolas that can carry 8 passengers each (2 cabins especially designed for people on wheelchair). Open from 10am to 10pm daily.

It’s located in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa - take the Monorail or LRT Ampang Line and get off Titiwangsa Station. You can also visit the nearby Bird Park, Hibiscus Garden or Butterfly Park. This northern part of Kuala Lumpur has fresh air and greener with all the century-old trees around.

In my opinion, although the view up Eye on Malaysia is quite nice, a trip up Menara KL is still better – better view of the city, higher vantage point and more accessible to tourists. But nevertheless, the Eye on Malaysia is an experience only few of us can brag about. So, hurry! Malaysia spent 30M Ringgit (300 million Baht) to built this just to be dismantled at the end of the year! Come, come, come!

Kuala Lumpur's G CLUBBING Scene

My ex-wife was my date last night and she was too stoned to even give me a little “I-missed-you-how-have-you-been?” sex. All my friends hated her so nobody went with me – but I met them all afterwards. KL is becoming a new haven for pill poppers and chemical sniffers, but it’s ok – I pop once in a while anyway so, shut up.

Morgan and I hang around with our fabulous G friends (yes, Gs and Bs do mix, goddammit!) afterwards just for the purpose of experiencing the G scene here first hand and blog our experience. I must say it’s one of the craziest things we ever done in Kuala Lumpur.

G activists can say all they want but for what I see here, PLUs are relatively freefrom what I see. Our tranny brothers (I mean, sisters) are all around. They can compete with their counterparts in Bangkok for their “womaness”. They all look so gorgeous! Trust me; KL trannies are one of the best in the world!

KL clubs close at 3 or 4am, so we had time to go around. A friend suggested we drive to Liquidone of the best meat market … I mean, clubs in KL. PLUs who come here are drop-dead gorgeous. *sigh* Why do they only come out at night? Anyway, Liquid is located next to Central Market – KL’s foremost cruising place. We had some beer, looked around, shook our booty a bit, smoke pot (forget I wrote that) and smiled, smiled, smiled. Morgan got bored, so we left.

LaQueen on Jalan P.Ramlee is the new party icon at the moment. So, LaQueen it is. I thought it was a mixed crowd but I guess Friday is G night? I don’t know. Lot’s of agogo boys – muscle queens who like to stand on stool chairs and take their shirts off. *sigh* Too Bangkok for me… no, no, no. Let’s go!

There’s Velvet Underground too here in KL. Velvet is what locals call “morning class”. After partying and wanna party more, here’s where everybody head to. But to the advice of a friend, better not go in this time because the narcotics police are closely watching it. So, walk on. Go, go, go!

Now, here -- Who in the world haven’t heard of the club Blue Boy? Just 2 blocks down the road from LaQueen and Velvet is this little sleazy G club more frequented by the next Generation-Gs and grandma’s who like them. This club is seriously cruisy. People sitting outside (having teh tarik or teh o ais limau whatever) howled as we pass by. LOL. Morgan suggested we don’t go in because Ariff said some people here would grab crotch if they fancy you * jaw dropped* So let’s get in! What are we waiting for? (I'll tell you what happened another time).

Blueboy, apparently is the oldest G bar in KL – it must be over 30 years old, rivaling The Telephone in Bangkok. Whoa! That’s a feat in a Muslim country, isn’t it? Cool. *Snap, snap, snap!*

Anyway, Sofia kept calling the whole night so we had to get home. We gotta do a little shopping later before going back to Bangkok tomorrow. Finally –
HOME.

THE ROLL CALL YOU DON'T WANNA HEAR

I picked up Safri, my Brit-Malaysian buddy at California Fitness Jln Sultan Ismail. Instead of gobbling the usual Starbucks blend on the corner, we decided to have dinner at Kuala Lumpur's famous Jalan Alor, it's a street of HongKong-style restaurants lined along the roadside.

I was driving. Traffic was bad considering it's Sunday. Parking was hard to find too. Finally, a space on the side of the road at the back of Jalan Alor near the tall condos.

I haven't turned off the engine yet when a man approached the car saying something as if we can hear him inside. Safri didn't give a shit but my mind was rushing. Who can blame me? I had my share of mugging and chasing plus I kinda like punching a guy's face when they are acting like a threat to me. Ha! Take that.

Anyways, I opened the door. The man walked straight to my direction. I clenched my fists. Ready to beat his sorry ass. Safri sensed what I'm going to do then he interrupt by saying something in Malay (or Chinese, or Hindi, I don't know) which I can barely hear. Then the man went to him.

"TALK IN ENGLISH!" I yelled to both of them. The man was startled.

Safri said to the man "Ask him, if he likes." Obviously pertaining to me. I'm standing on the other side of the car.

"Ask me what?" Safri walked over to my side, told me to relax and explained what the man wanted.

I regained my ground. The offer tickled my spine. After the gym, I could use one. The man must've seen a hint of a naughty smile on my face so he fearlessly walked over to me.

"What you like?" He said conspicuously. "I have Vietnamese, Filipin, Chinese, Lao..." he paused observing a hint, then continued "...Burmese, Indonesian...we have Russian!...

My face was blank. I was waiting for him to add the kicker --"Thai girls". But no --it didn't come. I am very sensitive about this issue. He didn't say the wrong word so, I asked him how much...

He said 500 Ringgit. F*ck! 500 Ringgit? Who is he kidding? "500 Ringgit?!! Are you crazy?" I said to his face.

"500 for the Russian." trying to calm me. Then he did his roll call again: "Vietnamese, Filipin, Lao, Indonesian...250 Ringgit...." Then he added "Very cheap. You go up there." (pointing at the tall condo building called Mutiara).

Seems like he will not mention "Thai" on his roll call so I gave in...But still I have to ask! -- "You have Thai girls?"

"Oh yes! You like Thai? 150 Ringgit only!"

I PUNCHED HIM ON THE FACE, KICK HIS RIBS WITH MY KNEES LEFT AND RIGHT AND LEFT HIM ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THAT NASTY PIMP!

Now, I'm flying back to Bangkok a day early just in case there would be trouble with the police here...tomorrow, good morning Bangkok.

Take that!

BEST CLUBS in SE ASIA: Maison KL

Think derelict chic -- the kind you see in a fashion magazine shoot. Think bare brick walls illuminated by vivid lights. Imagine chandeliers, steel partitions, throbbing lights in a Pre-WWII shop building. Think pink lights. Imagine people eager to know you, buy you drinks and display subtle sexual insinuations. This is MAISON...

Don't mistake it for the French word "house" because it doesn't get close to look like one. I discovered this club by word of mouth. A friend of a friend of a friend (and yet another friend) tipped me to check it out. This is how a club becomes GREAT. By word of mouth. No fancy adverts. No funky promos. Just plain no-holds-barred uber partying!

Maison is an emerging party icon in the chic city of Kuala Lumpur. This place will be a big ICON, I tell you. Have you ever gone to a club without planning to party anyway and just look around BUT somehow STILL ended up like a party animal, kicking your legs up in the high and shaking your booty? Yup, that's Maison. The DJ's will squeeze the party animal in you no matter how you repress it -- guaranteed.

Each night has a theme. So don't show up on your Playboy Bunny get up on a Thursday when it's Urban Republic night especially if you're a dude. Saturday nights is House music and Sunday is queer meat market. Yes, you heard me -- a meat market. Let's not be too discreet here, shall we? Gorgeous people come to Maison. Don't tell me you don't want to bring home one or two? Pffft!

And as they say in Maison: Celebrating life. Affirming beauty. Embracing you. *the "embracing you" part made my eyeballs roll five times.*

Maison is located on Heritage Row next to Sheraton Imperial Hotel on Jalan Sultan Ismail.

Their website is here -- sorry, it's NOT updated AND annoyingly written by an overly romantic literary looney. Ha! Take that!

BEST CLUBS in SE ASIA: Zouk Club KL

I lived in Kuala Lumpur for 2 years and I often come back because I have made a lot of friends who I met in hip & chic clubs around the city. Kuala Lumpur is a real treat to club goers. They usually close around 3-4am and often they will not close until the last clubber had left.

Unlike Bangkok, which is considered to be one of the world's happening cities, they close around 1am -- which is a bugger!

ZOUK CLUB KL is one of Southeast Asia's best club. This is where the fabs and the gorgeous go. If you wanna be seen...this is the place to be. Zouk is a French Creole word for "PARTY".

So, by the name itself, you know what to expect. The main genre is House Music and some Mambo Jambo the DJs play which is a little peculiar to the theme. Zouk KL let's the best DJs in the world spin on event nights.

JOIN THE PARTY HERE!...

Located in the very hip Ampang Road just a block away from the Petronas Towers. People gather around the entrance first. This is very good in prospecting your "meat" for the night. PLU crowd is very visible here (just as any other place anyway!). They are usually the best looking people around. Don't mind the inappropriately-dressed others, they make a good background for the most gorgeous guys. Just as the "fatty-maidens" will make an excellent contrast to the sexy women. I LOVE 'EM! (greed kicking in :-)

Zouk Dance Club KL is absoloutely one of Southeast Asia's best dance club. Truly world-class partying. Here is where to go if you want to be seen. PARTY ON!
