BISEAN TURNS 2!

This is surreal. Posing the same old question: “Has it really been another year?”

Today is Saturday. Last year’s March 28 was a Friday. Weekend. Meaning, a lot of scrubs are going to come to our party. Pfft! Another chance to booze all day and all night non-stop till Monday morning (or perhaps till Tuesday, who knows).

Whew! 2,091,536 hits on our 2nd year? Not bad. Not bad at all.

Thanks to all of you. And as Jedi Master Yoda would put it: "Your continuous support BISEAN appreciates. Herh herh herh."

Ok…that’s it. What do you want from me? Get back to work!

BISEAN ACCEPTS ADVERTISERS IN BEHALF OF THE KIDS

First and foremost, I’ll take this chance to apologize to companies and business people who expressed interest in advertising on BISEAN. I know this has been long over due and we just came up with an idea a few hours ago.

BISEAN is accepting advertisers (for the first time ever) for the benefit of 3 charitable institutions in the region;

1. Phaya Thai Babies’ Home in Bangkok, Thailand

2. Holy Child Orphanage in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines

3. Rumah Charis in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

All profits from our blog advertisers (from 20 Oct 2008- 19 Oct 2009) will be equally divided to the 3 orphanages mentioned above. The advertiser may also choose which of the 3 institutions they wish to be the sole beneficiary of their payment. Our group also visit foreign prisoners in Pattaya and Bangkok to give out personal letters and stuffs.

Our statistics. BISEAN gets 6,000-7,000 unique hits a week. That’s 40K+ hits a month. We are also listed in numerous blog listings in Asia, America and Latin America and mainly reach young professionals.

Our principle. To unite the youths and internet savvy bloggers and blog readers in Southeast Asia in collective appreciation of our region. Visit as many towns and cities as possible to better understand our differences and to seek and celebrate our similarities. Promote the region as “paradise of good people”.

What we do. Our group travels 10-15 days a month around the region. We do not work for any company. We promote our blog by personal encounters and planning to promote it in full force in the coming months. We do reviews, rants and commentaries on just about anything interesting around the region.

What we can do for your company if you wish to advertise here. Aside from your own banner (125x125), BISEAN will post at least 1 blog entry per week leading to your website (for 1-2 mos bond). We would also link it up to any blog post that requires your services. BISEAN would refuse other advertisers with similar business as yours.

Our Rates. BISEAN charges;

US$10 / week for 1 month bond
US$8 / week for 2 months bond
US$6 / week for 3 months bond
US$5 / week for 6 months bond

All proceeds will be marked as: “Contribution of BISEAN and [your company name]” upon donating the funds (or stuffs).

Thank you all in advance.

All inquiries to grant.waine [at] gmail [dot] com – BISEAN Editor.

WAIT A SEC...YOU'RE CONFUSING ME

Just a few days ago, we were celebrating our 700th-thousand-hits mark...

But our other counter (on the bottom of the page),
which was the original and BISEAN's very first counter, says...

Uhmm...this is confusing.

If the 2nd counter was the original, does it mean that
we're REALLY hitting the million mark in a few hours?

I don't wanna miss the moment.

Can somebody enlighten me on this?

HOLY GUACAMOLE! HAS IT REALLY BEEN A YEAR?

I was checking out my calendar last night…

Hmm28th of March. I gawked at the date for a full 10 seconds…ok, 9! What?... 10 is a bit overacting? Heh?... But still, I can’t seem to remember which of my good-for-nothing friends is celebrating a birthday or sumthin’…

Three more seconds…nothin’… then BAM! It’s BISEAN’s first year anniversary! Well, I’ll be dang!

Who would have thought this blog would last a year? – Well, I did. Ha! Take that! And I intend to keep it goin’ for years till I prove to all of you that our region is p-a-r-a-d-i-s-e of great people.

More than 50 towns and cities in 9 countries (except Brunei, but we promise to visit this year) visited in one year…459 blog posts…614,000 hits… NOT BAD! Not bad at all. Woohoo!

To the little man who called us prostitutes, to the tiny maggot who wanted to take our naked pictures, to the social-climber who called us “mongrels”, to the loser who called us cheaters (huh?), to the call-center loser who called us “bi polar racists”, to the fugly dude who called us illiterates, to the all-knowing guy who called us “shallow” *although we took it as a compliment, mind ya*…. WHERE ARE YOU NOW? Ha! I demand a retraction!

And most of all… to you who is reading this right now…who has nothing bad to say to hurt our feelings…and kept leaving comments to let us know we are loved...kop khun mak khrap. Thank you very much for sharing the dream of a united Southeast Asia with us.

Now go back to work!

A LITTLE REFRESHER COURSE

We got more than 2,000 hits yesterday to my surprise. Ok, “pretended” to be surprised – there, get off me! This statistics thing has gotten over me and really addictive to my dismay! Argh!

Anyways, Sofia seems to be hitting the right chords to up our numbers for the past days! I’m all smiles. She doesn’t have blog mates, but still managed to bring people here! Nice, baby. Really nice.

Along with the high hits yesterday came more emails than we can handle.
Is this the trend nowadays?
Readers don’t wanna hit the comment button and opt to write emails? But we are more than glad to read and reply to each email received! More smiles from me here.

Here’s what we replied to the emails we got last night. This would be useful to any emailers in the future and will serve as a refresher to those forgetful ones:

    * ASEAN and ASIAN are two different words. The former is the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the latter means people from the whole of the Asian continent.

    * NO. India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka aren’t located in Southeast Asia. They are in South Asia – no east, in case you didn’t notice.

    * S means south and E means east. Just the same as N is for North and W is for West. THEREFORE, “SE” means South East.

    * And no! Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan don’t belong to Southeast Asia either. We will not include them on the moving thingy up on our blog title no matter how you petition.

    * Oh my god, NO! Thailand is NOT in Europe.

    * This blog is about SE Asia, Eurasians and Bi-Racials. This is also about the orientation called bisexuality. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that the beautiful people we feature here share the same orientation with us. No, they don’t (unless indicated otherwise).

    * Southeast Asia only has 11 countries. The lists and rankings you will see here will only include those 11 countries with the occasional exception of East Timor, a country which is not a member of the ASEAN (see no.1) and don’t give much detail about them.

    * And lastly, NO we are not prostitutes! Ha! An email from Europe assumed that we Thais would give sexual favours for money. And no, we don't pose naked either. How dare you, little man! You are a bad dude and I hope you’ll be reincarnated as a cockroach! There. Take that!

Ooops! By the way, we took in another blogger. His name is Morgan Heritier. The forever bastard dude who ravage my flat every weekend even when not invited. :-) There goes my blog. *sigh*

We just surpassed the 20,000 hits mark!

    Don't mind this post.

    We just wanted to celebrate.

(*part of this post has been edited out. The message was already sent accross to the intended person.)

And to our friends who keep coming back here. Thank you. ขอบคุณ มาก ครับ. Terima kasih banyak-banyak. Maraming salamat. 感謝你. Merci bcp. Danke shoen. ありがとうございます.
