This is the weekend post-Hari Raya celebrations across the region. Everybody should be coming back from their 'kampung' by now and I could imagine the traffic back to the cities.

WHERE THE WORLD'S BEST PILOTS SHOW OFF!

My friends and I were talking about our travels earlier over at breakfast *yes, we eat breakfast. Thank you very much* and how much time we spend on board a plane in a year.

The average flying time within the villages of Southeast Asia is around 2.5 hours and we fly 4 times a week to party… hmm…that’s 10 hours a week or 40 hours a month! F*ucken out! That’s a whopping 480 hours onboard a f*ucken plane last year! Woohoo! 20 days of our lives wasted! Dang!

What makes me care about all these, anyway? Ha! Because earlier, I found this interesting article – the Top 10 Most Dangerous Aircraft Landings in the World. It is obviously about of the most notoriously hard-to-land runways around the planet AND the airports that make sure all passengers are awake before landing *that includes the dang pilots, of course!*

To be quite honest, I wanted the list to be full of Southeast Asian airports. LOL! So it would be more intriguing to BISEAN readers. But fortunately, for the faint-hearted -- none of the prayer-inducing-masochistic-thrill-ride airstrips are in Southeast Asia.

I would agree with this ProTraveller list about Hong Kong's Kai Tak definitely IS No.1! BUT -- Isn't Kai Tak closed already? *smirk* I think they’ve missed the Male Airport in Maldives? Or the Lukla Airport in Nepal! Interesting read though. Cool!

OUR CULINARY GEMS: Ikan Tunur Daun Simpur

Hello to all of the beautiful people who comes here everyday even though our blog was not updated for a whole fokken week! You sweeties are all goddesses. And I mean it!

Our first week here in Beijing was full of parties, functions, parties, parties and more parties. BISEAN didn't wanna say no to them dang invitations because this would be our home for the next 10 months...so what a girl like me to do? -- Fokken say yes to all invitations as long as I'm treated like a fokken princess. Hahaha!

Ok, enough of the first update...this post is about our culinary gems.

Our blog friend Maurina (or as Pisanu calls her "The Legendary Blogger from Brunei") posted a recipe especially for moi! Yes, you heard me sweetie...MOI!

Unfortunately sweeties, I can't post the recipe here... So, what I would like you to do; all you beautiful people of Southeast Asia...is to go to Maurina's blog for the recipe. She even took time to photograph each step! She is such a darling.

In the recent situation of our neighbors in Burma, we get news from networks a day late. Journalists has to risk their lives smuggling footage or information and most of the time, the reports are censored by the repressive Burmese military government before being aired.

OUR NEW LINKS!

I wanna talk about my blog links. So if you’re not interested (since you’re here anyway), click on one of those Perfect Specimen posts on the right side of the screen and feast your eyes on some beautiful creatures, o’right?

But I’m talking about our NEW links, ok? Our old links love me too much already *ok, ok, “adores” me* so, no need to suck it to them. Here's our new links...

Mongkol is our first Cambodian blog link ever! He grew up in Phnom Penh but he is currently in Boston pursuing a Master’s Degree in Higher Education. Now, here’s the kicker – he’s a Fulbright scholar! Is he smart or what? *My goodness!* The last time I was offered a scholarship was when I was 12 – by Pepsi! Way to go dude!

Manami is our new link in Singapore. She’s totally sweet but she doesn’t like to be called as such, I don’t know why. Her blog W-Gmepikshinki would be very useful to people who wants something translated in Chinese, Japanese and English (and Thai?). Yup! You got it right, she encourage her readers to send in stuffs to translate for them. Her blog is a glimpse on a life of a young, smart, sweet *oops!* Singaporean girl.

Preya is kinda my crush that’s why I linked her up. *naughty smile* Nah, I’m just kidding (about the linkin’ part, the crush, I'm dead serious). No, really I kinda dig her blog Dreaming of Hanoi because its an exceptional glimpse of life in Vietnam when she was still living there. Preya is now living in Colorado teaching English literature. Have I got a new bunch of smart links or what?! Whew!

Do you see this different BISEAN icon? This is from Fable of Fable Frog -- our new link from Malaysia. Now, this I tell you – he’s one hell of an artistic and creative guy. His blog has a column of picture links which (I think) he designed by himself. I’m all impressed dude! *Cool* A Frog’s Point of View is a collection of Fable’s thoughts, original writings and pop-culture.

Another new and interesting link is Bedtime Stories by Paul – I mean, Dr. Paul. I discovered his blog because he keeps beating me on PLU Top Blogs list at No. 6! LOL. I read some of his writings and I KEPT READING! I didn’t know what’s gotten into me but his writing style is engaging. There is something there that would make you keep reading. Seriously.

To be quite honest -- I really don’t know why I’m writing this. And why I’m beginning to be more thoughtful of our links -- I wasn’t’ like this before. Usually, when I want to suck up to them, I just splatter a picture link on a post altogether or sumthin’. *staring blankly* I think…I’m evolving.

Having new links like Mongkol, Manami, Preya, Fable and Paul makes me feel freshly appreciated. WAIT WAIT WAIT! I’m beginning to sound like a grown up! *I don’t want to grow up!* So guys – here are my new links and feel free to ravage them with honey.

ANOTHER STEP FOR RESPONSIBLE BLOGGING

I’d like to think I’m hitting the right people as my readers. Yeah – I can say that. One concerned reader emailed that she is worried about the links I have on my blog because she just saw one of her kids checking out pictures of naked creatures! *my, my* She also said her 2 kids frequent my blog to check information about whatelse? – Southeast Asia. *I’m all smiles*

I remember promising on this blog that I will never turn this into an adult blog with the exception of some unsavory words not meant for kids. That part, I’m afraid, cannot be avoided.

So in response to Mrs Mother-with-2-kids, I sorted my blog links into categories. Now it’s up to her to guide her kids which ones to click or not. I cannot just drop any previous links because I owe them hits and links are very important to a newbie blog like mine. This is the best I can do at the moment.
